VETERANS VEHICLE PROCESSION PARTICIPANT RULES
 
1. All drivers of vehicles shall possess and provide proof of a valid driver’s license.
2. Vehicles in the Procession must be “street legal.” This includes proper licensing for the vehicle. Vehicles will be no greater than 8 feet, 6 inches wide and weigh less than 16,000 lbs. per axel.
3. Drivers shall obey all the Washington Rules of the Road while driving in the procession.
4. Drivers shall maintain a safe distance (a 4 second space) between their vehicle and the vehicle in front. 
5. All drivers shall maintain 180º forward vision.
6. Participants may not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at any time during the procession. 
7. Riding on the top of or outside of vehicles without belts or harnesses is prohibited.
8. Fire or open flame on any vehicle is prohibited.
9. Exhaust systems shall extend beyond any and all decorations so that drivers or riders  are not exposed to carbon monoxide fumes.
10. Children must be under adult supervision at all times.
11. The American flag must be displayed in an appropriate manner. 
12. No materials (candy, merchandise, literature, etc.) may be handed out or thrown from vehicle participating in the vehicle procession. 
13. Participation is not open to commercial entries.
14. The City of Auburn reserves the right to bar from the procession at any time any entrant not conforming to the rules or refusing to follow the instructions of the police or city officials.

Assumption of Risks/Exculpatory Clause: I am fully aware that there are special dangers and risks inherent in this activity, including, but not limited to, serious physical injury, death or other harmful consequences, that may arise directly or indirectly from participation in the Procession and harm myself, my family members, and my property.

Being informed of these risks and in consideration of being allowed to participate, I assume all risk of injury, damage, and harm to myself, my minor children or dependents, and  my property arising from my participation. I individually and on behalf of any children, dependents, heirs, and executors agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the City, its officials, employees, volunteers, and agents from all causes of action, suits, claims, and fees for injury or death to persons, for loss or damage to property, or other consequences arising from my participation, except those arising from the City’s sole negligence, and waive any right of recovery against the City for personal injury or death to myself or my minor children or dependents, damage to my property, or other consequences occurring from participa­tion in the Procession

In consideration of my participation in this event, I further agree:

I have read the Veterans Vehicle Procession Participant Rules (listed above) and agree to abide by them.
That I am the driver of the vehicle that will be in the Procession and I possess a valid drivers’ license.
That the vehicle I am driving in the Procession is covered by at least the minimum auto insurance coverage required by law for the vehicle.
That the City of Auburn does not provide liability, uninsured or underinsured motorist, collision, medical payments, or personal injury protection, or any other type of auto insurance  coverage to participants of the Procession.
That I and/or persons in my family involved in any way in the Procession will fully comply with all federal, state, county and City ordinances, codes, rules, regulations, executive and/or emergency orders related to Covid-19, and to strictly follow the protocols of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and/or the Washington State Department of Health, related to COVID-19 and/or any other threats to public health.
That effective physical distancing and proper hygiene can only be accomplished through personal responsibility and it is each person’s individual duty to protect themselves, their families and the community, and doing so is the sole responsibility of myself, not the responsibility of the City.
That COVID-19 is highly contagious and there is a risk that my child or children and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while participating in the Procession and that such exposure or infection may result in per­sonal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19  may result from the ac­tions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including but not limited to City of Auburn employees and volunteers, and I voluntarily agree to assume all of the forego­ing risks and  hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless and indemnify the City of Auburn, its employees, agents, and representatives, from any and all claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of these risks to myself and my child(ren) whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after my participation in the Procession.
